Animal farm is an allegorical story because it talks about a political power struggle that was going on. It is about Russia's power struggle when Stalin came to power. The pigs are the people who are struggling over power and trying to reform it.

The pigs control the animals in different ways. Old major doesn't have a chance to continue his dream but, who really continued his dream was Snowball who controlled the animals with fair treatment and honesty. Napoleon, however, controls animals with lies and using their own slowness against them. He also makes a bad name for Snowball and starts brainwashing the animals into thinking everything is getting better when it is, just not for the other animals on Animal farm but, they don't know that.
